Elska is a request that you love and embrace all aspects of the world around you: the broken and the whole, the precious and the plastic, yourself and all people. Useful adversity and fruitful uselessness: Elska det... Love it!
Jewellery is a medium with which the user by nature needs to connect both visually and physically. To emphasize this, Elsa Hedberg brings in human interaction as a vital element in her designs. Innovatively exploring personalization, multiple function and what is really precious to the user of a decorative object, Elsa flirts with peoples inner children, her pieces colourful, dramatic, soulful and an instant play with space and time.
Bio: Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Elsa started her artistic career on the music scene. In the search for something to support her expression more tangibly, she went through design foundation in Sweden and moved on to study goldsmithing at the Copenhagen Technical Academy. In moving to London in 2007, she found the freedom to explore the boundaries of the chosen art-form, and has since been experimenting with body-related art and design, celebrating human bodies and behaviours in her special, distinct and humorous way. Elsa devotes her spare time to music, photography and her design blog. She also curates and organizes design shows, often with participatory elements.
